Gardening opens doors to new worlds

About my Scattered blog - Spring Ambitions

Every gardener, especially in the South, knows about grand Springtime ambitions and feeble Midsummer realities. This cycle of ambitions is likely to apply to my blogging as well as my gardening, but since the glory of Spring is upon us here in Mississippi, I'm up for giving this a try!

SCATTERED refers to several things:

1. The locations of my gardening: home, my daughter's plot in the budding Oxford Community Garden, and my involvement in the communal and Community Harvest areas of the Community Garden.

2. My gardening style. To balance the overload of structure in my work life as a scientist, I garden in the plunk style. Plunk a plant wherever and see how it goes: minimal planning and not nearly enough record keeping. Unfortunately, it usually shows.

3. My brain function these days.

PURPOSE of the blog is twofold.
1. To share my observations of plant and animal life in the various garden sites.

2. To report on the human happenings in relation to the Community Garden from my vantage point as the president of the Oxford Community Garden Association (OCGA).

Happy growing!
